Spring.... Break????

TODAY in Science class, we got some of our previous projects, notes and worksheets together for our parent teacher interviews!!!

PS: ITS SPRING BREAK TOMORROW!!!!

                        -Notes on Fluids

                        -Cells and systems test

                        -Worksheets

 

AFTER THAT...

    We continued on our project on BIOLUINESCENCE!!!

     My groups animal is the PINECONE FISH!!!

 

We were supposed to get some information about it, such as:

       Name: Pinecone fish (Aka. Monocentride or Monocentris Japonica)

       Facts: -It is aggressive

                  -It is orange by night and green-blue by day

                  -It illuminates with two headlights on its face

                  -Luminous bacteria colonize two organs on the fishes lower jaw and produces a beam of light to help find its prey

      Lives: In the Indo-Pacific ocean to south Africa

 

              ADVANTAGES Of having bioluminescence:

                  -Able to find prey easily

                        *Able to STAY ALIVE

                  -Able to see easier

                    

 

              DISADVANTAGES Of having bioluminescence

                 -Predators can find them easier

                 -Prey are able to tell when predator is coming

Bioluminescence

For science we are learning a new unit called Optics yesterday we watched a Bill Bye video about Optics to introduce us. Today we are learning about Bioluminescence a subject in our Optics unit. We are going to watch a video, and do some questions response on it. We are going to watch it once to just process the information and the second time we are going to answer the questions on our papers.

In today’s class we started a new unit called Optics. We filled out a paper called Optics Anticipation Guide.  Then we watched a Bill Nye video. The video is just at the bottom of the page if you want to watch it. While we were watching the video we had to fill out a sheet which is also just below with the video and the Optics Anticipation Guide. The picture below is what we thought what optics was.

SCIENCE FAIR

 

 

 this person did viscosity.  It was about testing different fluids to see which fluids would flow the fastest.

this girl did the same as the girl before

this guy do water pressure he wanted to see if the heat or the coldness would affect the water pressure.

she did the pop and mentos she was testing to see if  mentos would react to different types of pop.

End of Unit Project

In math we been working on the unit 'Linear Equations'. For out end of the unit project we got the choices to show our project in a blog post, music video, original song, poster or other. For my project I decided to do a blog post.

Bradley will give out one piece of candy for each person that attends his sleep over. There are no extra candy because he know how many guys are attending his sleep over. Let 'y' represent the amount of candy Bradley has to hand out.

when I did my word problem I had to correctly get a equation from it and then change it around to make it look weird and solve it myself. Before I did this I made a Cartesian plane because it was easier to make the problem and equation. for my Cartesian plane I had to make a table of values.

equation: y = 1x + 0
equation changed around: +0 = y + 1x
When I did this I had to solve my equation that was changed around.
