Today in Science Class we watched a video all about the water cycle and answered quesions from the video. The questions were...
1. Water can be a liquid, solid or a _gas_
2. The sun's energy / position changes water rom a luiqid to water vapor
3.Precipitation can be rain, sleet, snow or hail
4.Water evaporates rom plants, rivers, oceans

Video All Stars
We liked the comedy/entertainment
We didn't like that we couldn't retry it
What we could have done better: Timing
What we did good: Have fun!
We liked the entertainment.
We disliked the time limit.
*We have one group whose video is not completed yet, but will be shown soon!
The man is explaining what it looks like when you mix colours, like red and green, and blue and green.
Blue, green, red, yellow, white ,purple. They are taking some colours away to make different colours. I like it they are funny.

Diet Coke & Mentos Eruption
Today in Science we were doing our experiments. For my experiment I am doing the how does the brand of pop affect the pressure created in the experiment of mixing pop and mentos. Some points I found were,
Mentos Diet Coke Geyser. (Copyright 2013) uploaded by Steve Spangler Science. Avalible online at http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/lab/experiments/original-mentos-diet-coke-geyser
-when you drop the Mentos into soda, the gelatin and gum arabic from the dissolving candy breaks the surface tension on the pop.
-each mento has lots of tiny pits where carbon dioxide bubbles likes to form.
-as son as the Mentos hit the pop, bubbles form all over the candy.
-when all the gas is released, it pushes all the liquid up and out of the bottle and into a soda blast.
-people choose to use diet coke or diet pepsi because people think that it as somethng to do with artificial sweatener.

Down, Down Went the Steel Ball!
Today in Science class we went on a virtual lab to test if the temperature of the fluid affects the viscosity. For each different fluid we changed the temperature around from 14 degrees to 55 degrees to 70 degrees to see if there would be a difference. Then we dropped a steel little ball into the jars of different fluids. If the ball went really slow it had a low viscosity, but if the ball went straight throught the fluid it had a high viscosity. Since the honey is a thicker fluid I thought that the steel ball would travel throught the honey easier when the honey was heated up. I thought that the ball would travel through the honey easier when it was heated up and it did!

Bill Nye - Germs
Today in class we watched a Bill Nye the
Science Guy video about Germs and how they affect your body. There are three
different types of germs they are Bacteria, a Virus, and Pathogen. Bacteria can have a positive or negative
effect on your body, a Virus usually has a negative effect on your body, and
Pathogen is a type of bacteria that causes a disease, so it has a negative
effect. Your body’s first defence system
fights against things that harm you and can tell whether something is negative
or not. Your body’s second defence system just knows if something is negative. The
anti-body attach to the germs so the white blood cells can know to attack the
germs (the anti-bodies and white blood cells work together to defeat the
germs).

Medicine Wheel
We are working on our version of a medicine wheel by making a poster. We are looking at our aboriginal point of view on how we are alive. One perspective we have looked at are cells. Another thing we have looked at are four things in balance Mental, Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical.
