Abstract: We used body spray and timed ourselves to see how long we could smell it I liked the vanilla one the very best couldn’t smell it right at the start.

Procedure: What we did first was make a chart we put on the chart brand, 2 squirts sprayed Yes/No and we put time Mrs. N sprayed and we timed ourselves until we smelled it then stop the timer once were done.

Perfume

Abstract:  In this experiment we are trying to see how long it takes to smell perfume within 10   feet.  My   hypothesis is that when you squirt perfume twice it will   take less than  one  minute to smell the  perfume. I believe that the brand does matter because some brands make their perfume   scent stronger than others. The brand may also affect how long it takes to defuse in the air because of how strong the scent is.

Procedure: Before we did our experiment we needed to gather our materials. We needed to gather  tape, four different perfumes and a timer. During this experiment we needed to measure  out ten feet and put tape at the end of each side. We had Mrs. Neuman at one end and the  class at the other end. Mrs. Neuman would take a perfume bottle and stood at the end of  the tape. She would squirt the perfume twice and we would time how long it would take to  smell the perfume. Some people used their devices to time how long it took to smell the perfume. We did this procedure three times for each of the perfumes. We would have done this procedure four times but one of the perfumes clogged up when we tried to use it. When we got our time for how long it would take for us to smell the perfume we recorded our data. After we got all of our data we put the results onto a chart.

Conclusion:  In the end it would take around 15 to 30 seconds to smell the perfume. Some of the perfumes were stronger than others so we had to step out of the room for a while. My hypothesis was correct that you would smell the perfume in less than one minute. Also      that it does depend on the brand of because some perfume company’s make their perfume than others. I found out the depending on the brand the amount of perfume that is squired may be more than other because of the size of hole in the nozzle. On the chart the Pods of Vanilla was the strongest smelling perfume to smell and it took the shortest amount of time to smell.

Diffusion experiment

Abstract

The purposes of this experiment is to see  if the brands of body spray affects how long it will take to smell it from ten feet away. I don’t think it will be different.

 

Procedure

We measured ten feet. We wrote all the data on a chart. The people who had devices used them for a timer. The teacher then stood ten feet away. We had 4 different body sprays. One didn’t work. She sprayed each one twice. We stopped the timer when we smelled them really strong. We had body rush honeydew, dkny be delicious, jlo didn’t work and bath and body nsp . We recorded the results and here they are.

Conclusion

The experiment was to see if different types of body spray affect the time it takes to smell it. 2 sprays took the same time the 3^rd spray was 5 seconds faster to smell. So it does not really matter about the brand. I think I was right about it would not really be different. We did not take into account fans, how much comes out of the bottle and if everyone turned on the timer at the same time.

    Abstract: Have you ever sprayed a perume and you can't smell it, but then you walk in your room like 5 minutes later and thats all you can smell! Well that is the act of DIFFUSION!Diffusion is the movement of paticles from an area of high concetration to lower concentration. The question I asked was does the brand of the perfume affect how long it takes the perfume to diffuse across a space of 10 feet? Well what I think is every perfume has a different smell and every perfume bottle sprays a diferent amount of perfume so yes I think that the perfume brands affect the time.

 

 

   Procedure: Their is many steps to doing an experiment the first step was to gather our materials Mrs Thompson brught her perfume and body sprays from home.The second step was to make our charts that we would write our information in, we copied the chart that Mrs. Thompson put on the board.Then Mrs Jansen taped the ground at the begining of one tile then we measured out 10 feet and put another piece of tape at the 10 feet mark. Mrs. Neuman stood at one line and sprayed the perfume twice and we stood at the the other line with a timer. When we could could smell the perfume we would stop the time then we went and wrote it in our charts, we repeated this step for each of the perfumes. One of the perfumes didn't work so we skiped over that perfume and only used 3.

    Conclusion: In conclusion I smelled all mine within about 10 seconds to 20 seconds. Maybe the results would have changed if the JLo perfume worked. My hypothesis was also proven correct in this experiment. I said that the perfume brands would affect the time that it took to diffuse into the air so in the end the Nspa perfume was the strongest and took the least amount of time to diffuse but the Beauty Rush perfume was the weakest and that was the least expensive perfume maybe that is why it took so long to diffuse becasue it wasn't as good quality as the other ones.If you try this at home use 4 perfumes instead of 3. Just to see if your results are different then mine or even if they are the same.

Aboriginal Perspective of Life

Today in science our class looked at the Aboriginal perspective of how life is centered around the idea of a balance in life. We talked about having harmony between mental, emotional, physical and spiritual components. After learning about the medicine wheel we made our own medicine wheels but personalized about ourselves.

Edible Cells



 





Our class has finished a project making edible cells.In this project we were trying to represent two different types of cells, plant and animal cells.Each group had a  $5.00 limit to buy supplies for our cells. We also had to label each part of the cell. Six parts for animal cells and eight parts for a plant cell. We had a time limit of 45 minutes to make our cell. After they were made we got to eat them!
